I aim at creating forms that 'give back' to the entire space around them. I'd like to invite people to a slow motion of a camera in space. In their own space. Designing my light forms for this purpose means that they should transcend grace, weightlessness, and a sense of wonder. If they manage to do that in your eyes, and are installed right; as if they have just floated in to the room- you have it! . Some of my designs, such as The Lobster, Hingham and Zippel, are morphic-dimmers. They change the light around them by transforming. It does have a functional value to it, but it is first of all a choreography of shape and light that adds to that experience of their presence as objects of wonder.
