Description
The chest of drawers from the Stern collection, made of natural solid ash wood and metal is a vivid example of «ethnominimalism» due to its black color and laconic forms. However, the unusual position of the chest of drawers, which immediately attracts attention, does not preclude its functional purpose.
Hutsul ornament is characterized by geometry of patterns created by straight, broken, and regularly wavy lines and simple shapes (triangle, circle, semicircle, square, rhombus, rosettes). A variety of drawings, which is achieved by arranging lines and shapes. The Stern collection (Stern in german means star) takes its roots from the name of the Hutsul ornament Sterno - Stars. And they can be associated with four-leaf clover - a rare species of common clover (three-leaf clover). It is said that such clovers bring good luck.
