Jiraf is funky and stylish. From its initial sketches the intention was to create a solid wood structure, inspired by a spinal column, a structure which would support a light sheet of plywood. Starting from a classical solid wood structure and working on the shape to provide strength and resistance as a chair, the design incrementally became more contemporary creating an aesthetic more similar to a stylized giraffe than a spinal column.
