Description
The roman tableware collection, by Raffaella Mangiarotti for atipico, takes inspiration from roman classicism, reinterpreting it with the materials of great italian craftsmanship and the lightness of the contemporary.
“looking at the catalogs of ancient roman art i was struck by a glass vase with two ring handles that seemed to have been recently made in murano, but instead it was a relic. It is impressive how beauty can escape linguistic aging if it is the result of simplicity and proportional elegance. So i started from the idea of enhancing the ring as a design element, and made it structural, functional and decorative ".
The ring develops on a single line that turns on itself and wraps structures in borosilicate glass. Ethereal objects, almost devoid of materiality. The collection includes a vase, a jug with glass and a candlestick at various heights.
