The Talking Stools were created in an effort to preserve the ‘Matt Weaving Community’ in Ekiti Nigeria. Inspired by the hour glass silhouette of the iconic West African ‘Talking Drum’, which means ‘sweet sound’ in the Yoruba language.
The Talking Stools celebrate Hand-woven Matts, leather craftsmanship and shoe-making techniques. Essentially sculpting floor matts to perform as upholstery fabric, creating these unique and sturdy stools.
Preserving traditional techniques while exuding modern warmth, this sculptural stools are the perfect pieces for inspired interiors. Each piece is unique , celebrating the organic nature of this natural materials.
