A stackable chair with a shaped beech wood frame and leather belts like ones used to keep horses in line, for the seat and backrest. Produced in small batches by skilled carpenters of the ‘Jangid’ community of Rajasthan, India, the leather is vegetable tanned using traditional environmentally friendly processes. A modern adaptation of the traditional ‘Charpoy’ (literally translates to four legs), this chair goes beyond the practical sphere of multiples and gives natural elegance to a form often unrecognized as an important example for everyday use.
